Aaron Shust was not even a name that many may have heard of outside of Perimeter
Church in Atlanta, Georgia prior to 2005, but just take a look at his resume in 2007.

3 Dove award nominations.  3 Dove awards won.  First, for the prestigious 'Songwriter
of the Year' award.  Then, for 'Song of the Year' for "My Savior, My God".  Then last,
"Best New Artist of the Year".  Wait, was that right?  "Best New Artist of the Year" wins
"Songwriter of the Year" in the same year.  It doesn't happen very often, but if this is to
say the least of what Aaron is capable of with his heart-felt worshipful lyrics and smooth
flowing voice, then he is destined to become a legend in CCM.

Shust (pronounced SHOOST) started his career off in 2005 with the release of 'Anything
Worth Saying'.  The album itself was so much more then "My Savior, My God" though.
If you listen through it, you'll know what I mean.  Shust comes back with his
sophomore effort in 'Whispered & Shouted', which is likely to garner the same attention.
Look out Mark Hall, looks like there is another writer aimed at matching that back-to-
back 'Songwriter of the Year' awards!

The album starts off with the track "Long Live The King", a song that spawned from
Aaron's thoughts of a close friend who tragically died of leukemia at age 23.  Aaron says
"It was a nice September day in Atlanta, and the top was down on my Jeep—I was just
trying to enjoy the drive. But my thoughts were stuck on Rick and how God operates in
an incredible way during times of apparent tragedy. The chorus to this song just came
pouring out in the middle of my drive. Long live the One who gives us life, and peace
and hope for tomorrow!".  Amen to that.  Then we come to songs on the album like
"Give Me Words To Speak".  This sounds like something we should all ask the Lord for.
"Give me Words to speak/Don’t let my Spirit sleep/Cause I can’t think of anything worth
saying"  I often tell myself this when in conversation with non-Christians at times.
There's a point where I don't know what to say, or how to answer someone's questions,
but I have to rely on the Lord to give me the words I need.  It definitely takes patience
and time, something I most definitely need the Lord's help on!  Seek and ye shall find!

I don't know why, but when I first listened through "Can't Hide From Your Love", I
thought about the times that I've drifted away from God.  I know this may not have
anything to do with how Aaron came to write the song, but you know, it got me thinking
of all the times I've strayed.  I only would come to realize that I couldn't hide from God.
He was always there.  And so was His love.  As mad as the Lord gets at me sometimes
(which I am sure we have all kindled the anger of God in our lives), He's always there to
tell me it's okay, I love you and want the best for you.  Only if we want that, will we
receive it.

Closing Thoughts:
I guess to keep from blabbering on, the album's message really speaks in volumes.  If
this record is any indication of Aaron's future in CCM, it appears that it is a bright path to
be seen.  God bless and enjoy
Whispered & Shouted.
