Jay S. Heilman Jr.

October 11, 1980 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL

I gave my life to Jesus Christ on
June 25, 2003 in Bushnell, FL.

I founded the site in 2004 and are also the
webmaster and lead review.

There are many, but an important one to
remember is Philippians 4:13 which says,
"
I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me
" KJV

I would probably have to say Ephesians 4.

Hard Rock, Rock, Pop, Worship & AC

I grew up reading classic novels, some of my
favorites include: Robinson Crusoe, The
Three Musketeers, Count of Monte Cristo,
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea and A
Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.
These are just a few.

Yes, my wife Shannon and I have been
married since April 23, 2005 and have been
together since April 22, 2003.

Yes, 2.  Mariah (b: 1999) & Hannah (b: 2006)

I love to reach people for Christ, which is what
we're called to do for the 'Great Commission'.
I also like being able to meet people who visit
our site and of course being able to meet the
artists whose albums are the ones we write
reviews on.  The Lord has definitely made me
part of a ministry that I have fun working with.

It would be extremely hard to narrow this down
to one considering I work with music everyday
with CMR!  But some of my favorites are Third
Day, DecembeRadio, John Waller, Rush Of
Fools, Casting Crowns, Day Of Fire & so
many more!
PERSONAL TESTIMONY

I didn't grow up in a Christian home, in fact it was anything but.  Profanity, vulgarity, yelling
and screaming went on in my house throughout my early years and on into my teen years.  I
knew of God, and believed in Him, but did not have a relationship with Him.

It wasn't until I met my wife Shannon (my girlfriend at the time) where I would finally 'darken the
doors' of a church regularly.  It was in April 2003 when she came into the video store I was
working in.  She came in to rent some movies with her friends.  We got to talking and a few
weeks later started dating each other.  Shannon had grew up in the church despite her family
troubles and had often stayed with church family friends to remain active.  It was after sitting
in the pews for a couple of months before I fell under conviction of the Holy Spirit.

I gave my life to Jesus Christ and was saved on June 25, 2003 at a little Baptist church in
Bushnell, FL called Croom-A-Coochee Baptist Church.  The Pastor there, Brother Jerry
Alexander, is the one who baptized both my wife and I along with my 8 year-old daughter,
Mariah and even married Shannon and I on April 23, 2005.

Since giving my life to Christ, I have been bold in my teaching and witnessing and would
consider myself a conservative person.  I am not afraid to let someone know about the
Gospel, for if it wasn't for the tactics of some over the years, I may not have gotten saved if it
weren't for close Christian friends of mine from school as well as my wife.

I remember my wife telling me one time before I got saved, "If you die without Christ, you are
going to go to hell".  Those were the wake-up words that I needed to hear.  I commit my life to
the work of the ministry and since starting Christian Music Review in September 2004, it's
always been a goal of mine for our site to reach the lost with the aid of music.  Music is and
has always been a big influence on me, and I think others can be reached through it as well!
