The hard rocking, rally-crying Barlow Girls are getting into the Christmas spirit. “Home for Christmas,” released on
September 23, is a beautiful blend of traditional songs of the season, plus some jazzier sounds like “Go Tell it on the
Mountain,” and one original recording.

The three Barlow sisters - Alyssa, Rebecca, and Lauren Barlow - truly showcase their beautiful harmonies in songs like “O
Come, O Come Emmanuel,” and “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”

The original recording, “Hallelujah (Light has Come)” is about the savior coming to the world, and seems to be sung from
Mary’s perspective. “Do you hear the Angels Sing for you my baby / Men and kings have come to / Bow to you … / We’
ve been found / A child is born / To save us now / Hallelujah light has come / A Savior who will set us free.” This is a
slower song that expresses reverence and awe of the Savior who came to free us. It fits in perfectly with the tone of this
album.

This is music I would definitely like playing in the background when I’m opening presents with my family on Christmas.
