I really liked Space In Between Us and Rise and while I anticipated highly the release of Iris To Iris I was somewhat disappointed. Not with the message, but the music. It was a lot of different compared to the two previous releases. Not that change isn't good. I know the group had 'regrouped' and approached this project a little differently then in the past with a more worship soundtrack then their rock roots, I was just expecting some full out rock, which is what I think this album really lacked. Nonetheless, it was a great CD and I think from a ministering standpoint, it's excellent.

After listening to the entire album, I came to the conclusion that I am a new Building 429
fan. I was never what you would call a ’fan’, just someone who had heard of the band and
liked a few songs. But, I absolutely love this album! The band took a different turn with
their style and got right down to the basics of worship. The lyrics are sincere and heart
piercing. I actually began to cry while listening to ‘Waiting To Shine.’ It reminded me of my
own personal walk with the Lord and how we wait with anticipation to see the Savior ‘Iris To
Iris.’ This song is what the band calls the “heartbeat” of the album.
I was also very touched by the bands testimony on their song “Amazed.” They said, “Don’t
forget the blessings in the middle of pain… you’ve got to trust that Jesus has you exactly
where He wants you and that His plan is perfect. Darkness doesn’t change the truth. At
night, when you turn the lights off in your room, everything is still the same. The same
pictures are hanging a few feet away. Your house hasn’t changed a bit. The same is true
about our God. Tough times happen when we want to question everything, but remember
our God is constant, and when the lights come back on… we will still be amazed!”
The bands truth, faith, love, and heart is revealed through their songs. There’s no second
guessing if these guys are real. Not like a lot of ‘Christian’ bands who water everything
down and paint a pretty picture of something that their really not. So for that I send a
special thanks to them for being an example for their fans. You are going to want this CD!
If you don’t get it you will be missing out! ><>
