Main Review The chorus of “Only You Can Save” says "I wanna love because You loved. I wanna give because You gave. I wanna reach These are just some of the most powerful, inspirational, and by far some of the better lyrics I've heard in a long time. It's amazing how you can tell whether an album is going to be good or not just by listening to the first song. For those of you who don't know, Chris was a former American Idol finalist and I must say, he has certainly won my heart over with his new album, The Anatomy of Broken.
Chris' message is very clear. Love. Unity. Striving for more and taking your faith serious. Growing in grace and learning from our scars, past mistakes. Very good stuff. I, myself, even felt compelled to move. Move, meaning, in my spiritual journey. As Christians we should long and thirst for more. More for ourselves, more for the Kingdom of God, and for others. This album only gets better by the song. To pick a favorite...I can't! Every song has such an annointing. God is all over this album like white on bread! Well okay, if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the opening track and single and third track, “Our Love”. It’s about love. Loving others and that is God’s greatest commandment. To love
I absolutely love Chris' mind set as well. In the album bio he says "I understand that this business is very fleeting, and it’s tough to find lasting happiness when you’re tying to be an artist. My goal is to walk away saying that I made great music, I had something to say, and I conducted myself in business as a Christian first. I want to conduct myself as Christ would. I don’t want to be okay with making ordinary music.” Christ first!
That's what this life is all about! Jesus Christ. Being more like Him. If you don't understand that, you don't know what you're missing. Stop missing out!!! "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." Psalm 34:8
Closing Thoughts This album definitely took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting to hear such a powerful message and for that message to have a constant flow through every song, God was definitely present when this album was in the works. Amazing!
