Hello and greetings!  Here you will find the most common and frequently asked questions that are e-mailed to our
ministry.  Please take a moment and read through them.  If you have a question that is not addressed here,
please feel free to e-mail us at
questions@christianmusicreview.org.  Hope this helps!
Q: What is Christian Music Review?  What is it's primary goal?
A: Christian Music Review is, as it's title explains, a Christian music review site.  In addition to album reviews, you can find
other useful information such as Christian concert reviews, artists interview, bios and discographies as well as music
videos, the Plan of Salvation among other things.  Our primary goal is to reach people for Jesus Christ and help build the
Kingdom of God with the help of positive and uplifting, influential, Christ-honoring music.  While many review sites may
focus more on the music, Christian Music Review is different in the aspect that we weigh more favorably on a good
message then just good music.  Music can't save you, but the everlasting hope of Salvation found only through Jesus
Christ can and will.  We pray that people use the reviews on our site to find message-meaningful and entertaining music!
Q: I am a Christian musician and would like Christian Music Review to
review my music.  Will CMR write a review on my music?
A: While it's the goal of our ministry to get the positive and uplifting music of today's Christian artists to people who need
it, we are unable to write reviews upon request.  We write reviews for artists that are on national labels and who are
distributed through national distribution groups.  From time to time we will feature reviews on independent recording
artists, but due to overwhelming amount of independent artists and groups out there, it would not be fair to feature only a
few of the thousands of talented artists out there.  Time is another key issue as well.  The national labels keep our team
quite busy with the pre-release albums hitting the market.  There are a few sites that we would recommend contacting if
you are an indie artist or group looking for someone to review your music.  Just one bit of advice I can give you is, put
Christ first in your lives and music and don't conform to the world.  Write what you believe in your heart that God would
have you to write.  Pray that He will use your music and ministry to reach people for Christ.  Don't focus on worldly
material possessions and statuses.  Keep your eyes on Christ!
Q: Why does Christian Music Review focus more on the message of an
album then the music?  Is Christian entertainment a sin or something?
A: When we started CMR in September of 2004, we wanted to bring forth a music review ministry that was different then
all of the others on-line.  We're not saying that all the other sites are bad and un-godly, this was just our conviction and
guidance from the Holy Spirit to approach our ministry in this way.  In the Bible it says that we are to glorify, honor and
worship God in all we do. (1 Corinthians 6:20)   Music is no exception.  If an artists says that they pray and hope that
their album will influence or minister to listeners for Christ, then our expectations are the same as well.  Does the music
glorify and honor Christ?  Does it influence people to give their lives to and live for Jesus Christ?  Is Christian
entertainment a sin?  No, not at all.  But we should be mindful at what kind of 'entertainment' entertains us.  Does it
contradict the way we are to compose ourselves according to God's Word?  Just remember, other Christians may judge
you based upon your actions, but the world (those who are lost) are watching our every move.  Can they see Christ in
us?  That's why our emphasis on the message is so important. This is a negative and hostile world we live in.  People
need Jesus.  Music is the universal language.  It can be used as a powerful tool to reach people for the Gospel,
(Matthew 28:19-20) which is what Jesus Himself called us to do.
Q: What does Christian Music Review believe?
A: This question can best be answered by checking out our 'Vision' page.  While the writers of Christian Music Review are
all members of local Bible-believing
Baptist churches, we don't discriminate based on denomination.  We choose to hold
to the Baptist doctrine in how we run and organize our ministry.  This is our personal beliefs from a ministry standpoint.
Q: Can I help Christian Music Review in any way?  Are you hiring?
A: Christian Music Review is a not-for-profit ministry and as with any ministry, we need financial support to keep it up and
running.  No one on our ministry team is paid.  Everyone is a volunteer working for the same purpose.  Reaching people
for Christ.  No, we are not hiring, but if you love writing and think you could help in writing retro reviews on older albums,
please contact Jay Heilman to inquire.  We have opened this up to visitors in 2007 to let you become a part of our
ministry.  We do thank each and every person who visits, tells other about CMR.  We pray the Lord uses our site to bring
honor and glory to Him.  May the peace of Christ reside within your lives every day.
