Main Review The newest release in the VeggieTales series is sure to strike up excitement from it's longtime female viewers with the release of "Sweetpea Beauty: A Girl After God's Own Heart", the first 'girls-adventure' in the series.
I sat down once again to watch with my daughter Hannah, who will soon be four years-old. Like the previous releases, the excitement of getting a new VT DVD in the mail is pure excitement and anticipation for the newest and latest release. Sweetpea Beauty is probably her favorite though hands down. With a DVD collection that features ALL of the Barbie DVD releases, along with the Disney Princesses, this one is sure to be a favorite of little girls around the country whose favorite films are similar.
In this story, which I think is perfect for little girls to view - looks at typical "God made you special" tag-line found through the VT releases, but teaches of the true beauty that God created in all woman. In a world full of vanity, leaving woman and young girls wishing they were prettier, smarter, thinner and so on, Sweet Pea Beauty reminds them that true beauty is what lies within.
Taking the classic fairtale story lines of such classics as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty, this release is sure to be a favorite among all those little "princesses" out there.
Closing Thoughts I would strongly recommend this one for all girls, especially those between the ages 3-10. As always, the VeggieTales series sticks close to it's root goals in showing God's love, grace and forgiveness through it's collection of children's programs. Another homerun for Big Idea, simply amazing!
