Sixteen year-old Robert Pierre is set to release his sophomore album Identity. He has a
different musical style (Rock and Pop) but delivers it in a great and powerful way. The
purpose behind his new album is to truly to identify yourself and not be persuaded by the
world around you. Rather, to be led and guided by the One who will always be there,
Jesus Christ.
This album packs so many songs that will just blow you away! Pierre walks you
through who you are and challenges you to stand firm and not be ashamed of who you
are. With special guest songwriters like Matthew West, Scott Krippayne, and Jason
Ingraham the album really takes off. He also does an impressive cover of the Chris
Tomlin song, “Let God Arise”.
“Jesus” is probably one of the greatest songs on the album. It is also the song that has
been playing all over the radio. This song impacts me as it is a cry out to the Lord, it tells
you that He is the hope and He is the one that we can rely on always and forever.
“Elementary” is a song of how complex God’s love is and how we are so undeserving
we are of his love. But He chose us and that makes it so simple, elementary if you will.
The album ends on my favorite song, “Don’t Miss This”. It reminds me of where I
could have been and what I would be missing if I never chose Jesus for myself. For He
is the only way.
The whole album in a nutshell is: Jesus is your hope; you are lost in your ways; you find
your identity; you learn about God’s endless love and then you are saved for your sins. It
is the path of salvation in a lyrical form.
Closing Thoughts:
Robert Pierre is an amazing young man that comes across to me as great young man of
God. How great is it to know that there is young artists out there that are true role
models to the young of our day? I applaud you Robert for being yourself, making your
music, and doing your calling.
