A-
In a world full of compilation CDs, a lot of folks ask the question – which ones are
worth buying and which ones should I skip over?  Well I am kind of fenced with the
release of 30 All Time Favorite Worship Songs, with only one reason for not being on
the ‘buy me, buy me!’ side of the fence.  This release has every popular praise &
worship song that has been released in the past 20 years, but one thing it lacks may be
the difference whether someone would want to pick it up or not.  Even though this
release probably lives up to its title when it says 30 Best, it’s right.  But the recordings
are not by the original artists.  But wait, before you say ‘okay I don’t think I want to
this’, consider this – These recordings are the closest that I have ever heard covers be to
the original artist recording.  I was quite impressed with the fact that when
WorshipSource.com put this compilation together, they were able to find some pretty
talented and impressive vocalists that really put their all into making these sound as close
to originals as possible.

I understand in a world of copyrights and royalties it would probably be pretty expensive
to feature a collection this big with the original recordings (although there have been a
few WOW CDs featuring popular P&W songs) without it costing like $30 per album, but
one thing that this album promises is, it won’t break your bank.  At about $15, this two
CD set is an impressive collection for the price.

I think the ones who this compilation would be the best benefit to would be a youth
pastor or music director at your church.  I know that all churches have budgets and
finding music for youth groups and services can be tough, but this release can be the
biggest bargain when it comes to that.

Closing Thoughts:
30 All Time Favorite Worship Songs is a compilation that definitely lives up to its title.
Every major P&W song is included and at its $14.99 price tag, this is definitely a release
that can fit any budget.  WorshipSource.com puts out a quality project that’s worth
checking out!
